The schedule for the 2022–23 season was announced on Thursday, and Real Madrid will open the defense of their LaLiga championship on the road against Almeria.
While Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid open their campaign on the road against Getafe, Xavi’s first complete season in charge of Barcelona gets underway at the Nou Camp against Rayo Vallecano.
On the first gameday, Sevilla will visit Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao will host Mallorca, while play-off champions Girona will play Valencia.
The LaLiga season starts on August 12 and lasts until November 13 and December 29 before a mid-season break for the World Cup in Qatar.
The first El Clasico of the season will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu on October 16, with the rematch taking place in Barcelona on March 19. Last season, under Carlo Ancelotti, Madrid won the double after defeating Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris.
On September 18, the first Madrid derby of the season will take place, while on November 6, Sevilla and Real Betis will face off in the Andalusian derby.
The season ends on June 4th, 2023, with Madrid hosting Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona traveling to Celta Vigo, and Atletico taking on Villarreal.
